One of my wish list for a leader

Subject: The Life of Iranian President Ahmedi Nijad'

The Fox News TV (USA) asked the Iranian President Ahmedi Nijad;

'When you look into the mirror in the morning what do you say to yourself'?

He answered: I see the person in the mirror and tell him 'Remember,
you are no more than a small servant, ahead of you today is the heavy
responsibility, and that is to serve the Iranian nation'.

Ahmedi Nijad, the Iranian President who astonished many when he first
reached to the office of the Presidency by donating all the high valued
Iranian carpets to one of the mosques in Tehran by replacing them with the
low cost ordinary carpets.

He observed that there was a huge extravagant lounge for receiving and
welcoming the VIPs and he ordered it to be closed and asked the protocol
office to arrange for an ordinary room only with the wooden chairs.

On many instances he joins the cleaning staff of the municipality
for cleaning the streets in the area where his home and the Presidency are
located.

Under his authority whenever he appoints any minister to his post he
gets a signed document from him with many points, particularly
highlighting that he shall remain poor and that his personal and his
relatives accounts will be watched and the day he leaves the ministry
shall be with dignity, and therefore it is not lawful for him or his
relatives to take any advantage of his office.

First of all he declared himself for all the 'Big' wealth and the
property he owned was a Peugeot 504 car, model 1977, an old small
house inherited from his father 40-years ago in one of the poorest
zones in Tehran. His accounts with a zero balance and the only money
comes in to his a/c was from his salary from the university as a
lecturer with an amount of US$ 250 only.

For your information the President still lives in that same house. This is
all what he owns; the president of one of the world's important countries;
strategically, economically, politically and with regard to its oil and
defence.

He even doesn't take his personal salary with the argument that all the
wealth belongs to the nation and he is the safeguard over it.

One of the things that impressed the staff at the presidency is the bag
the President brings with him every day, which contains his breakfast;
some sandwiches or bread with olive oil and cheese prepared by his
wife and eats and enjoys it with all happiness.

One of the other things he changed was his personal carrier 'the
President's Aircraft' to a cargo aircraft in order to save the
spending from the public treasury and he ordered that he will be
flying with the ordinary airline in the economy class.

He organizes meetings every now and then with all the ministers to know
their activities and efficiency and he closed down the office of the
Manager of the president and any minister can enter to his office without
any permission. He also stopped the welcome ceremonies like the red
carpet, the photo session or any personal advertisement or respect of
any kind while visiting any place in the country.

Whenever he has to stay in any of the hotels he asks them to make sure not
to give him a room with any big bed because he doesn't like to sleep on
beds but rather likes to sleep on the floor on a simple mattress with a
blanket.

The Iranian president is sleeping in the guest room of his house after
getting away from his special guards who follow him wherever he goes and
photo is taken by his small brother according to the Wifaq Newspaper which
published this photo and the next day the photo was published in most of
the world's newspapers and magazines and particularly the Americans.

During the prayer you can see that he is not sitting in the first row.

And the final photo is of his dining room where the president is busy
eating his simple meal.

Now, I wonder how much does the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his Cabinet costs Malaysia? Not counting all their ill-gotten gains through corruption and abuses of power!

A good Muslim leader leads by example.

And the Leader that we had

A Friend's of a Friend's Poem

Salam Guys. This was passed to me by an old friend of mine , I want to
share it with you lots..............especially the young ones.

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital near
Tampa, Florida, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions,
They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff
that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Missouri. The old man's sole bequest to
posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News
Magazine of the St. Louis Association for Mental Health. A slide
presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent,
poem.
And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is
now the author of! this " anonymous" poem winging across the Internet

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? What do you see?
What are you thinking ... when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .... with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food ... and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice ... "I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice ...the things that you do.
And forever is losing ... A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not ... lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding ... The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse ... you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am ... As I sit here so still,
As I do ! at your bidding, as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten ... with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters ... who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen ..with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now ... a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty .... my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows ... that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now ... I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide. And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty ... My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ... With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons ... have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me ... to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, ... Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children ... My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me ... My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ...I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing ... young of their own.
And I think of the years ... And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man ... and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age ... look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles ... grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone ... where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass... A young guy still dwells,
And now and again ... my battered heart swells
I remember the joys ... I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living ... life over again!

I think of the years ... all too few ... gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact ... that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people ... open and see..
Not a crabby old man. Look closer ... see ... ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might
brush aside without looking at the young soul within ... we will all,
one day, be there, too!

SPM period

Well ,this was the second week, the family was away in Langkawi and I was alone at home, missed them terribly. Why?? you might asked ,well guys I sacrificed my family life so that my daugther can be with her mum and sister for the whole of SPM examination period in Langkawi. After talking to her mum last night, I knew that I have made the correct decision.
It seem that one of her friends was spending the night at the apartment
for the night after reporting sick, and the mother (my daughter's friend's mother)
was worried sick and practically begging my wife to take her daughter in
to the apartment, I guess that can happen to my daughter also(and I too would have worried sick) if I did not agreed to have the family moved to Langkawi for the SPM examination duration. I missed them now....thank you god for the "rezeki" that you have bestowed on me.

10th November 2007 The BERSIH Gathering

What can I say, I was not there but after reading the blogsphere commentaries. El and Jeancumlately have summed up the gathering nicely........!

el // Nov 12th 2007 at 2:41 am

Kenapa ramai melayu…

senang saja nak menjawab…

Jeancumlately // Nov 12th 2007 at 10:11 am

Thank you el for saying it…

I dont usually agree with amrozi either but the truth hurts. I was in masjid jamek and looked at the people around me. Mostly malays… well, I would say more then 80%. And quietly I asked myself, where are those people who were screaming and complaining endlessly for being discriminated against, bla, bla, bla… Ironically, the very race they had belittled, criticized and made fun of were there to fight for everybody’s cause. Come on…

I guess, at the end of the day, its too much to risk the big house, the big screen tv, the big car and the big wife…

Monty, at your age, I respect you for walking your talk.

The Friday Sermon

I've just come back from the Friday's prayer at the Naval Base
Mosque. Its been a long time since I have been there, normally I would
have my friday's prayer done at the Teluk Mosque which was quite convenience for me in some days but not this friday as the traffic along the Daeng Selaili Road was jammed pack with cars. So I was quite surprised with the new set up that they have in the Naval Base Mosque. Hey..! they have large screen here too, mate.

And the title that I read on the big screen is " Ahlak Pemuda & Pemudi kita ".I did not really pay any attention to the screen as the imam was reading his sermon but at the corner of my eyes,I could not figured why my neighbor attention was riveted at the screen. So there it was ,as the Imam was reading the sermon on the the subject matter, they have the visual presentation on the big screen,...... so what come out when male and female came together out of wedlock, it should be a baby, no it's not in our society in our now so called Islam Hadhari society , its' the fetuses..... an unwanted fetuses,in the rubbish bin, garbage area,at the road side in a bag, you name it and they have it on the screen. I would thanks god that ,on this particular day they decided only to show the unwanted fetuses and not newly born ,alive and kicking innocent babies at the foot of the tree,at the door of houses and stair of the mosques and temples and they are the lucky ones. And also not to show the dead babies that were flushed through the toilets, thrown onto the streets and left at the rubbish dump for the dogs. What kind of youths that we have brought up today......................God forgive us.

Well I think our society have become so immune to that kind of gruesome scenery but what come next on the big screen really shook me to the core, what's happening to our world, our civilized world, the so called free world, it showed somewhere in the world ,those who practiced "one child policy" did to their unwanted aborted fetuses.......they MADE SOUP out of it , in one scene they showed a group of ten sharing a big bowl of fetuses soup and one was barbecued and presented on a plate at the table. Guys........, Guys........ a barbecued fetuses surrounded by the ten with ketchup, chily sauce, folk and knife and all just like we're having our barbecued lamb or pike on the table, without guilt showed in their faces ........................ ...........!.Okay in some society they will eat any thing... elephants, cats, rats ...... dogs and what have you, but this time it beyond explanation at least to me.... .............................................!

In the last scene, they showed how our Mat Rempit,in his glory, was found at the road side,in one scene they have his body sprawled on the road minus his head (shouldn't his legs go the other way), blood all over the body, then they showed his head in some bushes somewhere.

What intrigued me was that , shouldn't he in his pinnacle should died with a smile and big grin on his face (like our spaceman) or at least a Victory sign with his hand but instead in death his just protruded his tongue at you.
