I guess,my children have a great time this Hari Raya , for me its just another day after the Ramadan month.
We started our journey on the 10th Oct. for the balik kampong,
quite early this year, first phase of the travel was to go down to
Malacca on Wednesday but stopped in KL to do our shopping. Yeah, its
last minute but this was due to my elder kid who is away at a boarding
school and can only joined the family as early as on Tuesday of the Hari Raya week. While the kids and mother too, have their fun, I could not find any Baju Melayu to my liking in KL.The carpets at Jalan Tengku Abdul Rahman stores were beutifully displayed and one caught my eyes.
Reached safely in Malacca and put up at the Klebang Beach apartment.Well as promised, treat my family to a Berbuka Puasa at the Legacy Hotel. On the way back to the apartment stopped at the Klebang Beach whereby, they have these "Gerais" selling everything that you need for the Hari Raya , kids and mother have their fun and daddy managed to find a nice Baju Melayu at a fractional cost compared to the one at Jalan Tengku Abdul Rahmans' shops, KL.
Morning the 11th Oct. drove down to J.B's Johore Jaya and put up at my sister in law place for the night and this had been our routine for the last years when we were to spent our Hari Raya Puasa in Singapore. After the berbuka, drove to the Immigration Complex to pick up my other sis in law from Singapore who liked to join us at J.B.
Noon the 12th Oct. after a shopping spree at the Giant in Johore Jaya, we proceed to Singapore, up to the brim with goods, if the Singapore's custom decided to have a 100% check on my car then I will have a headache. Thank god ,the man was in a good mood , he just waved me away as I were about to open my car boot.
The morning of the Hari Raya as usual we the male family of the household would go for our Hari Raya Prayer at the nearest mosque. After the prayer the whole family would then joined in for the breakfast of ketupat, lontong ,rendang , sambal udang or sotong, chicken curry and what not.The kids were all smiles now as the duit raya from daddy will be given. The Maaf bermaafan routine will be solemly carried out and guess what, I enjoyed it as I am the eldest around.
